Orange County: Taft Area Infrastructure Assessment

GIS Data Management & Database Design. Created an Access database for the logging of problems, photos, and cost estimate data of problems found throughout the Taft Maintenance District (78 square miles). The database also facilitated the rapid reporting of problems, photo logs, and cost estimates summarized by problem category and subdivision location. Created GIS maps of the 59 development areas showing all of the problem locations by category and 26 subcategories through links to the Access database.

Orange County: Three Points Area Infrastructure Assessment

Data Collection Database Design, GIS & Data Management, and GIS Mapping. Modified the Taft Access database (above) for the Three Points Maintenance District (155 square miles). Modifications include simplifying the data entry forms & process, creating new user-friendly interfaces, and adding new reports with intelligent sorting and filtering options. The new “One-Page” report format includes all problem information, site photograph and data, and location map with legend. A front end to the One-Page report included search, filter, and sorting options. A Main Menu and All-in-One user friendly interface for Orange County maintenance personnel was designed to accommodate to a diverse set of users. An ArcView script was written to automate the process of creating the One-Page location maps from GIS data. ArcView queries and intersections were performed to populate the database with spatial relationship data. Density modeling of over 3,300 point locations was performed using ArcView Spatial Analyst.

Orange County: Apopka and West Orange Infrastructure Assessments

Data Collection Database Design, Data & GIS Data Management Instruction Manual. Modified the Taft Access database (above) for the Apopka (85 square miles) and West Orange (165 square miles) Maintenance Districts to include regional data specific to those districts. An instruction manual was written that detailed the processes for creating, importing, and managing Access and GIS data to a standard required by the design of the database.

Orange County: Bithlo Infrastructure Assessment

Data Collection & Reporting Database Design/Modification, Data & GIS Data Management, and GIS Mapping. Modified the Three Points database for the Bithlo Maintenance District (307 square miles) to include a new summary report. Directed client in the gathering of problem locations and digital photographs using a handheld GPS and digital camera, then linking the GPS points with the photographs using the time stamp from both devices. This facilitated rapid data collection and increased efficiency. In addition, the use of GPS-collected and named locations reduced the errors inherent in hand-marking, digitizing, and naming locations. Once the locations were all collected with GPS, the spatial locations were used to determine their location within political and physical boundaries for database population. Tabular data was used to populate the database with photographic data.

Orange County: John Young Infrastructure Assessment

Data Collection & Reporting Database Design/Modification, GPS & Digital Photograph Data Collection and Synchronization, Data & GIS Data Management, and GIS Mapping. The John Young Maintenance District (51 square miles) Infrastructure Assessment was performed during the same period and with the same goals and activities as the Bithlo Infrastructure Assessment.

Orange County: Zellwood Infrastructure Assessment

Data Collection & Reporting Database Design/Modification, GPS & Digital Photograph Data Collection and Synchronization, Data & GIS Data Management, and GIS Mapping. The Zellwood Maintenance District (106 square miles) was the last of the Orange County Maintenance Districts to be assessed using the methods perfected in all of the previous assessments.

City of Melbourne: Customer Complaint Database

Designed a Microsoft Access database to simplify the data entry, management, and the reporting of the City’s water quality issues and improve flushing/maintenance procedures.

City of Oviedo: Capital Projects Maintenance Database

Designed a Microsoft Access database to simplify the data entry, management, and the reporting of the City’s projects through a multi-user interface.

City of St Cloud: Water/Wastewater Maintenance Database

Designed a Microsoft Access Database to provide a simple data entry method for water and wastewater maintenance activities. The capabilities of the database will be expanded in the future to automate the city’s reporting requirements for the FDEP and SFWMD.

Cummins Engine Company - Memphis District

Designed a Microsoft Access database for user-friendly data entry of all historical and current environmental sampling results and groundwater elevation data. The user forms were created to simplify and reduce the amount of user input required to populate the database. Consolidated electronic drawings from several sources and georeferenced the drawing to a projected aerial photograph using ArcGIS. Created potentiometric surface maps, plume stability maps, and contaminant concentration and isopleth maps for reporting of the data entered into the database.

Private Client: Project Tracking Database

Designed a MS Access database for project management, timesheet entry, employee to-do lists, manpower estimates, project deliverable and budget tracking, IT ticket management, and FTP site management.
